Avid reader. Most of my content is reviews. My tastes in genres is quite varied. I love sci-fi, horror/thrillers, and have been known to read an occasional non-fiction book. I am a pop culture nerd. I love comics! I know a lot of potentially worthless trivia. So if you have similar interests sit down and stay awhile.

But also I was trafficked as a child. Seeing the roles reversed was very satisfying
I love this comic so much. Kinda see Domino as my hero now tbh
After hearing your review I thought you would give it a 1 star. Great honest review. But definitely going put Monstress on my TBR. 👍
Monstress is so much better than this.....at least the fantasy element suits the illustrative style of this artist.
Worth mentioning: considering the graphic violence/gore, there are virtually no depictions, descriptions, nor casual references to the rape/sexual assault of women nor the grooming/molestation of minors. This is quite refreshing as it seems male on female SA and statutory SA has become a bit of a lazy trope or shortcut to signal barbarity in 21st century grimdark fiction, in ways that dont neccessarily make sense for the story and the aftermaths arent properly handled. So if those things are a personal trigger for you despite an ability to otherwise enjoy humans causing pain and violence to each other and engagingin utter barbarity, look no further! This might serve as a refreshing palate cleanser of non X-rated, equal opportunity victims of terror and horror.
Norman Partridge is one of my favorite authors. This book and Dark Harvest are great reads. His short stories have been in several horror anthologies in my collection and those are the highlights of those books. If you liked Dark Harvest check out his Halloween anthology Johnny Halloween.
Thanx for that recommendation.
Black an female...more woke bs
Junji ito is such a good writer with horror so it’s hard for me to see him doing anything with comedy.
I found out about this series through running into a variant of the first issue that was shouting out the Rockstar Games classic Manhunt. The scene where Domino is chased by killer incels gave me Manhunt vibes in a way too.
Does this book contain all six parts of the series?
@@aritrasarkar5434 yes if I remember it correctly
@@BookNookNoggin Thank you for the information buddy ❤
The Ostrander run is the best run of suicide squad and nothing will ever beat it
This comic book was originaly black and white, so they include both versions in this edition.
Just bought it ,can't wait to start reading it.
very good sociology the YOU TUBE interview with the author from seven years ago is Great!
They do a Fenring book
are you saying they are working on one? Because I don't think they have one.
The House books were excellent …these trash
Yes!!!! Cash grab
I picked it up and wanted to like it, I really liked her previous work in Bolero. I found it a struggle too. It was certainly extreme and disturbing, it did that well, but the characters weren't there in the sams way.
This was my first time reading her writing.
I finished the whole series today because I happened across it, and I know that we are not supposed to empathize with anyone in the book and I don’t but i can’t help but feel like it’s a shock value thing, I’m still trying to dissect it, it ain’t working
Why does this video not have many views??!?!?!?!?!?
I blame YT
I almost cried while reading this (dog doll bit)
I know it's been a while, but I came to this video for a recap of the story before reading the sequel (it's been about 10 years since I read the original). Thanks for your review!
Thanx for commenting. I wasn't aware that there was a sequel to this.
@@BookNookNoggin It never got widely released in the US it seems. Not on Kindle either. I got a copy from the UK on eBay. Not bad so far. :-)
This book influenced Lovecraft and he mentions William as being one of his greatest inspirations
Very cool. Thanx for sharing that.
Great book ...the lesser dead is good also....buehlman need to keep writing vampire books he does them well
I love your honesty. You are hitting the nail 👌
They will have a deluxe version of this😊
Just came across your review after finishing this book today...I had started reading this all the way back in 2010, but I got sidetracked and DNF'd it right before Edgar made it to his meeting with Wireman. I am very glad that I picked this up and decided to finish it off this time! Loved the characters of Edgar and Wireman and Elizabeth and Jack and the way this came together in the final third of the novel (which FLEW by for me on this read because I was hooked and needed to know how it was going to wrap up from about chapter 16 on...) In my mind's eye this time I saw Edgar and Wireman almost as Red and Andy from 'Shawshank Redemption', just in a different setting - a kind of friendship and bond that transcends the page and gets to me as the reader and makes me care about them. I really do want to ask Sai King one day how he determines the denouement for his characters...he creates amazing characters overall, but man does he like to torment and abuse them! I went 5-star on GR because I was really between 4.5 and 4.75 but don't have that option over there! I think this novel fits very much in a pattern of King's works - fitting very nicely alongside 'Bag of Bones', 'Needful Things' (and 'Storm of the Century'), 'Insomnia', 'Dreamcatcher' and even 'Under the Dome' (which I personally enjoyed more than most people!)... All of these stories start off with small town characters or isolated protagonists and slowly add side characters and more until eventually the story sort of starts around 200-300 pages in...for some people (like me now) that slow build up is OK, for others (like me 13 years ago! damn that hurts to say...) it won't take. Anywho, thanks for the review, enjoyed your thoughts on 'Duma Key'...
I feel the same, I used to like Wolverine more in the past.
I discovered your channel through this video (via Reddit, btw.) Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Welcome aboard!😀
dawn of DC is another reboot specifically coming after the Dark Crisis event, if I remember correctly. I only read a few of the Knight Terrors sidestories and not the main event comic, but it was nice to see more of G. Willow Wilson's Poison Ivy in her Knight Terrors comic as well as Zatanna getting to be a part of the event. When I went to the comic store around the time when the KT issues were coming out, the cashier told me there were almost 50 individual issues for the overall event, which is really crazy! great review + showcase!
so far I'm not really liking the extra side stories. One of them had Sinestro influenced and another not on Earth hero that just didn't make sense for the storyline. I mean Insomnia was some dude from Arkham who could go into dreams/nightmares. I cannot fathom him having that far of a reach.
i recently came across your channel and I want to say that small creators like you who consistently upload content that they genuinely love are the backbone of youtube and I love to see it! Wishing great success to you and your channel!
Good video, I agree the kids, and the dead people coming back, a bit confusing. Overall still good and an interesting comic though
I'll be reading Vol. 2 very soon... Hopefully it gets explained.
I’ve almost finished reading this book and it has me hooked. What would you say is the best time travel novel? X
If you want another romance /time travel check out Somewhere in Time by Richard Matheson, and The Time Travelers Wife.
I just finished reading this book. I liked it, but I hate the ending, especially since he didn’t commit to how the ending seemed it was going to end. Once it seemed like the book completely ended, I had put it down, and I was complaining about it all day and when I finally read the gray pages, it seemed like a copout 🤷🏻♀️ but it’s worth reading I would’ve given it five stars if it wasn’t for those last few gray pages so it’s a four for me
very good comics
Just got reading it and read it straight threw. This has been an amazing read I had seen from its first issue but had put off until a few nights ago. Wish I had been along for the ride since day 1. I'm on to this story now and will be reading it as it progresses. GREAT STORY 2 THIS POINT Mr. Lemire
Original was rushed. A lot of people were pissed
They added more to it. Nailbite zReturns. Did not end.
I know this. At the time of filming this.....didnt know
@BookNookNoggin not many people expected it to comeback. They were not really crazy about it.. Still have room for more. Left it open
This was an interesting take on the legend. ❤
I have been interested to hear more about this book so I am glad you did this review.
Is the book. An one short or is it mini series
It's a standalone one shot that gives his background.
@@BookNookNoggin thank you
I appreciate the review, its good to know it leans more toward a thriller. I presumed more horror hecause of the title and cover, and when im looking for horror i want horror. Love the shirt btw.
Fair enough! I looked at the keywords for it's goodreads and they agree it's a thriller too.
I want to read that novel graphic! I read first Beautiful Darkness which is by the same people, Fabien Vehlmann and Kerascoet , and both the story and the art seemed wonderful to me!
If you enjoyed Beautiful Darkness, then I think you will really like this one too.
I’m here after watched it as movie
You’re are so handsome ! Have a good new year ! .;) ❤🎉
Happy new year!!
Have a good new years 2024
You too.
This review was helpful, personally I think I'd be more intrested in this book if it had more 80s and 00s stuff in it because thats when the more signifficant kang storylines took place, instead it seems to just have tie ins to unrelated ongoing events in the later part of the book.
Sadly that's how Marvel tends to do these
I actually found the book to be funny at times. People who know Ligotti personally say that he's a funny guy.
have a great christmas weekend
You too!
Good comic! :))
